There is a clear house style throughout my digipak due to the color scheme and style of the sides. Synergy and cross media convergense is created, as the music video and website have a very similar colour scheme and style (sketching, font).
Front Cover
I wanted the front cover to instantly stand out, this would be through bright and colourful lighting, I wanted it to be reminicent of the music video, and therefore added the sketching around the artist that is also seen in the video, the sketchng was done in photoshop with the aid of a pen pad that connects to the software for me to easily draw on the lnes where I wanted them.
I also increased the saturation of the image in photoshop, decreased the exposure for higher contrast and a more professonal look, and removed the blemishes from the artists face useing the 'Spot healing brush' tool.

Back
As the list of the tracks as gong to be on the back, I decided to have plain colours going from pink to purple, further following the color scheme. The tracks are located in the centre on the back, as they are the main focus.
I stretched out a picture of a sounwave in photoshop, doubles it, and flpped it, this is going to go on the right and left side of the back of the digipak.
The information on the record label and production company will be at the bottom of the page.
The barcode wll be on the right side, just above the nformation.

Inside
I want the inside of the digipak to be slghtly different from the front and back, for ths I will use a photo of Finn walking away, following the rule of thirds I will have some space on the left side of the image where will include a brief biography of the artist. I will also blur out the singer in photoshop, in order for the focus to be on the text.
CD
As a disco ball is present in the music video, I decided to have that be the design on the CD, so I took pictures of the discoball, photoshopped out my reflecton using the 'masking' tool and the 'brush tool. After this I added the text (title of album, artsit name) onto the bottom of the CD and distorted it for it to look a bit more interesting and stand out.
This was then pasted onto a picture of a regular CD, and the opasity of the discoball was slghtly decreased for the reftctions of the CD to show through.

Inspiration
1. Colour scheme: I really like how there are only a few colours used ( pink and blue), it adds to the simple look of it and doesn't look busy.
2. Simple: this cover is very simple and is not an overload of pattern and colour, it isn't quite minimalism, but the point of it is similar, I like this and would like to do something similar. 3. Symmetry: I like how the text is positioned of opposite sides of each other and it corresponds with the diagonal line going through the cover, it adds balance to the cover. |
